 How do I get started?

Wow, first public post ;D

Ok, I've only just been introduced to the Smiths. I've been given a copy of 'Strangeway here we come'. Not really had chance to listen to it yet (Gimmi time).

Can anyone give me a basic background story or a good place to get started?

Hope to hear from you all soon.

Louder than Bombs is a good sampler too.
For starters, the following site has some background info and lots of fun stuff to browse through. There are quite a few sites I have bookmarked, some with mp3's to share, video clips, the list goes on.

Welcome to the dark side!

I started with The Queen Is Dead, because most people recommended it as the best. Then I got Strangeways, then H.O.H, then M.I.M, etc.

I don't really think it matters where you start, as they are an incredible band whatever order you hear the songs in.

istarted with The Singles but id say Louder Then Bombs or The World Won't Listen are the best samplers- they give a better picture.
